Founding Document of the Week:  Mayflower Compact (November 11th 1620)

The Mayflower voyage [1620] was intended to reach the mouth of the Hudson River; however, they were blown off course and landed at present day Provincetown Harbor, Massachusetts – forming Plymouth Colony. Due to being off course and not at the intended settlement area, many passengers felt that, due to not landing in Virginia, there was no one that had power over them – essential anarchy. To prevent this, many of the pilgrim male leaders (but not a majority) of the voyage chose to form the first government and drafted The Mayflower Compact. This document is the first colonial governing document. It swore allegiance to the king of England, as well as the religious devotion, and governing in the best interests and survival of the colonists would be by a majority.

This page is sponsored by 'Letters from Yesteryear' at www.LettersFromYesteryear.com - a short book by Karen Beers, transcribed and based from real letters from a late 1800s frontier woman and her family.  This book is available in paperback and Kindle download www.lettersfromyesteryear.com/order-now.html - visit the website for free excerpts.

Karen's book of real frontier history is one of the best ways to learn about history is from people who actually lived and documented what they experienced. The book Letters From Yesteryear is a collection of letters written between the years 1879 and 1900. These letters were written with no intent other than to keep in contact with family. Through the innocent, honest writings of these letters, historical information is gained regarding the late 1800’s in parts of the United States of America.

From this book Facebook page, started in November 29, 2012:
Today our Country is faced with collapsing internally, with external forces also working against who we are. It is not about political party, race, gender, sexual orientation, or other personal identification and social agenda used to prejudice others, class warfare. It is about self-destruction. Very simply, it is Capitalism vs. Socialism; and Judeo-Christianity vs. Radicals.

Seeing the history of our Country and Constitution ignored - which is to ignore and destroy the future of our Children and Grandchildren. As we began to see the decline of what was conceived by our Founding Fathers and all that fought, perished and even lost their personal fortunes to birth this greatest nation, freedoms and concept of government.

Author's Thoughts From the Book Backcover

Author's thoughts, from the book's backcover...
www.beerswithourfoundingfathers.com/3/post/2013/04/thoughts-from-the-book-backcover.html

Fiscal Culture of Capitalism vs. Parasitic Cult of Socialism

The history of a Government of the People, by the People and For the People to a Socialist Government of the People, by the Government, for the Government – Socialism. It is one or the other, we cannot have it both ways.

Dean A. Beers is a United States Citizen, born in Fort Collins, Colorado. He is a 7th generation native of the area. Sadly, he sees his home state spiraling in the same direction as our Country, and other states.

Dean is straight-forward, no non-sense and not politically correct. His words may inspire or inflame the reader – the intent is to invoke thought. A business owner, capitalist pig, and firm believer in the foundation and intent of all three branches of the federal government and state governments.
